Tubes asked us to assist them in the engineering and prototyping of Eve, an electric radiator, part of the new Plug&Play collection.
Eve was designed by Ludovica+Roberto Palomba, inspired by the world of the drones, it is a futuristic object. When operating, it lights up automatically, but even if it is not a lamp, you can use the light without heat to create the right atmosphere.
Eve is a moveable sphere in rigid, structural polyurethane with high mechanical strength. It heats by blowing hot air which is emitted at 360 degrees through an opening at floor level.
The use of top-quality heating, lighting and control components has helped to reduce the overall dimensions and keep to the required dimensions of cm 40x35h.
The heating is electric and can be adjusted to two power settings (400W and 800W) through a touch key located on top of the sphere or via an application for Android and IOS via Bluetooth, operating inside the home.
You can also regulate the lighting in the same way: the dimmable light is emitted, like the heat from the bottom of the sphere.
In an effort to keep production and subsequent servicing costs down, the same control panel is also used on other devices.
In addition to the engineering, by following the instructions and collaborating with the R&D department of Tubes Radiatori, Due Pi Greco has contributed to the prototyping thanks to 3D printing (Stratasys Fortus), printing and assembling of some perfectly working prototypes.
Eve is a magic sphere, the perfect shape of wellness in the home for all seasons.
